How do I reserve you for a photo session?

You should book your session no less than 4 weeks in advance. That is the minimum amount of time I need to properly prepare for your session. To reserve an available date, I require a non-refundable $50 deposit. Send me a message of what kind of session you’d like to book. As soon as we have decided on a date and time for your session, and you’ve paid your deposit, you will be officially booked!

Which form of payments do you accept?

Cash, Credit Card or Check. I do offer an easy, online invoice payment option as well. A $50 non-refundable deposit is due at booking and the remaining balance is due at the time of your scheduled session.

How do you describe your shooting style?

I always strive and aim to capture the candid moments and real emotions between the amazing people I get to photograph.  I try my best to let you interact as natural as possible but will also give direction and guide you when necessary.

What rights do I have to the digital prints?

You will receive reproduction rights to all your images. This gives you the right to reproduce the images for personal use, so you can use them for prints, sharing them on your social media, making canvases, etc. Commercial use is not allowed unless separately agreed on.

Which locations do you recommend for a lifestyle Session?

Sioux Falls has so many great spots – from Downtown Sioux Falls, to Lake Alvin, the Outdoor Campus, or the beautiful Arboretum, we’ll be sure to find the best spot that fits your preferred style.

What should we wear?

For all my sessions, my lady clients have access to my personal Client Closet. Please let me know if you’d be interested in seeing the dresses I have available.

I’m excited to offer Style & Select for my clients as well. It is a digital and interactive styling tool to help you find and coordinate what to wear! Visit my Client Closet page for more info!

Dark clothing tends to slenderize. Darker clothing helps to blend the bodies with the background, so that the faces are the most important part of the photo.

Tone down bright colors. Bright colors attract attention away from the face and may be reflective. Avoid wearing red, bright pink, bright green etc. When choosing lighter colors, stick to pastels, but avoid pink tones.

Light clothing can look beautifully fresh. If you are worried about not appearing slender then it is safer to avoid white. White shirts and/or blouses under a dark jacket are perfect.

Avoid prints and patterns This includes logos. No matter how small the print or the pattern, it will become a distraction.

Tip. Lay out all the clothing onto a bed. Shoes, socks, and accessories – everything should be included. Then, take a careful look at the collection. If your eye goes to any one item in particular, you can be certain that the same thing will happen in a photograph. Avoid clothing that is too tight or loose.

How soon will my photos be available?

Sometimes a sneak preview will be published on my social sites (with your permission) within one week after the session. Your completed, edited online gallery will be available 2-4 weeks after your session!
